Message 12: Receiving and Growing in Salvation
II. Growing by cooperating with the Lord and enjoying His rich provision
A. Having an intimate, loving and personal relationship with the Lord—Song of Songs 1:2–4; 1 John 1:3; 2 Cor. 3:18
Song of Songs 1:2–4 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! / For your love is better than wine. 3 Your anointing oils have a pleasant fragrance; / Your name is like ointment poured forth; / Therefore the virgins love you. 4 Draw me; we will run after you– The king has brought me into his chambers– / We will be glad and rejoice in you; / We will extol your love more than wine. / Rightly do they love you.
1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.
B. Confessing our sins—1 John 1:7, 9; Acts 24:16
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Acts 24:16 Because of this I also exercise myself to always have a conscience without offense toward God and men.
1. To enjoy His forgiveness and cleansing
2. To remove the barriers so that His life can grow
Read over the outline points and verses above and use these for your prayer to spend time with the Lord in the Word in the morning. After your prayer time, jot down in your notebook one or two things that the Lord touched you with.
